The Academy of Dreams runs regular dream training courses, workshops and dream groups on the many different aspects and perspectives of a dream, so that you can reflect on the impact of your dream-world upon your waking life.
The Academy of Dreams Training Courses:
Our dream training courses introduce you to the question of what is a dream? from a variety of different perspectives; looking at the meaning and content of a dream, as well as the more philosophical and spiritual question of what a dream actually is.
For more information about any of the courses, please email: debbie@theacademyofdreams.com or join our mailing list for regular updates.
Our dream training courses include:
- Dream Interpretation: when it comes to interpreting dreams, the symbology that lies within them are subjective and need to be interpreted in context of the dreamer and their environment. During this course we teach a system that dramatically simplifies the dream interpretation process, our understanding of dreams and their hidden meaning;
- Lucid Dreaming: Lucid dreaming is where you, ‘the dreamer’, are aware and conscious of the fact that you are dreaming whilst being in a dream. Many people have had at least one lucid dream experience at some time in their lives. It is a fascinating state, as you have full consciousness, yet you are somehow in a different reality.
Our next course will be taught at The Academy of Dreams in February 2010 hosted by Debbie Winterbourne, Charlie Morley and Todd Routt. - Lucid Dreaming and Tibetan Dream Yoga: Tibetan Buddhism and Taoism have taught that the waking world is no more than illusion or a dream. Tibetan dream yoga can be a valuable tool in which we can learn to recognise the dream state.
- Toltec Dreaming: This course is given by Dr Alan Taylor, who introduces the Toltec Teachings and the Warrior’s Path. It stems from the excellent texts of Théun Mares. The Toltec teachings are a practical approach to life based upon taking action. It is only through taking action that we gain our own experience and hence knowledge. The next Toltec series will run in 2010;
- Jungian Dreaming and Quantum Physics: Carl Jung made a major contribution to the psychology of dream work. His revolutionary theory of the ‘self’ was that it comprised both a personal unconscious and a collective unconscious. Dreams could originate either from the personal or from the collective unconscious. Learn how Jung’s theories relate to the concepts of quantum physics.
Dream Groups:
As well as training courses, The Academy of Dreams also runs monthly Dream Groups on the 3rd Friday of every month from 7.00 – 9.00pm. Why not come along and join other like minded people? Interpret your dreams using Dream Cards; included free when you first attend.
