Learn how to Lucid Dream

Lucid dreaming is all about being aware that you are dreaming whilst in the dream. This is a fascinating state of consciousness which really challenges our notions of what ‘reality’ is.

It is quite straightforward to learn how to dream lucidly. One way is to become familiar with the differences between the waking world and the dream world via the application of ‘State Tests’ or ‘Reality Tests’ whereby you can tell whether you are awake or dreaming. The dream world does not obey the standard laws of science eg: gravity, electricity. We can therefore jump up or turn on electric light switches in order to check whether we are dreaming or in the waking world.

Why learn to Lucid Dream?
There are enormous benefits from learning how to have lucid dreams such as:

  • You can practise and improve on skills from the waking world, such as public speaking
  • You can become a creative explorer; visit a museum in your dream and wonder at the works of art; compose a melody or a song and bring both back to the waking world! This is a true source of inspiration
  • You can heal old conflicts: meet up with a former partner/your parents. Have that conversation that you wished you had had before. You can even visit deceased loved ones and say the things that you had no time to say or were too scared to
  • Just explore! The dream world is a fascinating world to investigate. Travel where you want; meet who you want
  • Healing: many people report that if they have an illness in the waking world, then they can visit the lucid dream and seek the help of a ‘lucid doctor’ or shaman. Or even try to heal themselves. Then this healing work has a direct effect on the body in the waking world
  • Find the meaning of life! Ask your dream what the truth is; who God is; what the purpose of life is. I even killed myself in a dream to find out about life beyond and received a two minute flash of expanded vision and consciousness

During our Lucid Dreaming training we cover the following key aspects of lucid dreaming:

  • Understand the differences between the waking world and the dream world
  • Learn how to use a ‘state test’ to tell the difference between these two worlds
  • Learn several different techniques for how to have a Lucid Dream
  • Discuss and reflect on the lucid state and what that might mean in terms of consciousness
  • Learn techniques for how to maintain your lucidity and how to ‘recover your dream eyes’
  • Reflect and make an agenda for what you wish to do in your next lucid dream.

‘I just wanted to let you know that I managed to have a lucid dream last Wednesday!! It was incredible! I dreamt I was in a building and immediately realized I was dreaming, so I decided to walk through the wall, and I walked on to a busy street outside, I looked at my hands and saw them change from big to small and I was so excited but I had to keep calm. And then I decided to speak to the characters of my dream. All of a sudden the road became full of people and they were all walking towards me, so I stopped the first man and asked him if there was something he wanted to tell me and he said that he strongly advises me to go travelling and hands me a business card, the business card has three or four aero planes, rainbow coloured and in 3D.

Anyway it was quite a long lucid dream, at some points I had lost the control but then I managed to regain it. I also experienced false awakenings 2 times during the dream… Thank you for helping me to have these experiences.’

“Dreaming is such an important and fascinating subject. It’s wonderful that there is a skilled person like Debbie making enormous headway to bring this subject to the forefront of our conscious minds. The fact that she has achieved the goal of creating the Academy of Dreams, singlehandedly, demonstrates her passion and commitment to her calling. I attended Debbie’s Lucid Dreaming workshop recently which was great. A few days later, after using the techniques learned, I had a lucid dream! It had been years since I last had one and it has inspired me to be more involved in this amazing aspect of my existence. Thank you Debbie.”
